Exploring the lost film “Overtime” by Ashley De Grandy

Image
After the death of actor and musician James Gailey, I began researching his filmography; coming across a title he did in 2018 for Ashley De Grandy entitled “Overtime”. He frequently collaborated with Ashley during his short but impressive acting career. He and Ashley worked on the 2020 film “Metanoia”, James’ first posthumous release, a short entitled “The Road”, and the soon-to-be released feature film “Regina”. Excerpt from James Gailey’s Backstage resume Upon further inspection I couldn’t find much on his film “Overtime” except that he and actor Gary Allen appear in the film together. Gailey portrays Joe and Gary portrays the role of Drunk Man Stumbling. They acted in it together in August 2018. It is unknown at this time if any other actors appear in the film. The film, most likely a short, judging by “Regina” being De Grandy’s first feature film, is most likely on a hard drive somewhere. Excerpt from Gary Allen’s resume

Filming completed on upcoming Andrew Chi Nguyen film “The Woman with a Name or Two”

Filming has recently wrapped on the upcoming short film by Andrew Chi Nguyen entitled “The Woman with a Name or Two”. Described as a Spaghetti Western meets a Japanese Samurai movie; production began in mid-October filming into late December.  A recent graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Arts and Cinema program, Andrew began working on the movie and two other projects (which are also in post-production) while still in school and in a post on his personal Instagram page joked “can’t wait to share it with everyone sometime between now and 2037”. On a serious note, the estimated 10 minute film should be available around Summer 2024.  The plot is still unknown, but from the title viewers can expect a post-apocalyptic Western but with a twist! A female lead!! Something not often seen in the genre.
